📄︱June 2026 Recap

Another eventful month for the year of 2026! I'll let my subcategories do the explaining.

A Sinewave of Mental States

Most of the beginning of June was fantastic!!! I was finishing up some of the Archipelagos that I've done with friends as well as myself (posting some of the ones I've done on Bluesky with Metroid Zero Mission, Fusion, and AM2R (though I recently stopped that one since I wasn't remembering what to do in AM2R)), and even finished Cave Story, a game I didn't know about its significance in the indie gaming industry until after I've played it, and talked about it with my brother and someone else in the Terraria Metroid Mod Discord. This was essentially a blind playthrough because even though I knew where Quote and Curly Brace had came from, I knew absolutely nothing about the game's contents and I have to say, the game is incredible and that everyone should play it. The only things I've looked for was when I was looking for the requirements to beat the game's normal and best endings.

I also started working on a review for OneShot prior to this with another user, but that hasn't been worked on for a while due to other priorities in the works. After which I've started to feel a bit down in the middle of the month.

To basically summarize what happened (since I've already talked about it in a blog post), I felt irritated about certain aspects of my life I've done with others and wished I had the motivation to do things. Another thing I pointed out is when I vent online, nothing happens and considering it's a constant factor, I'm thinking it's a blessing in disguise because it's a sign I'm going to feel better the next day, which, most of the time, is. In fact, it was!

Some days after, my friends eventually saw the contents and hoped for the best for me, but that was only after I've mentioned it. At the end of this blog, I'm doing a lot better than that point, but I'm going to keep this blog post of mine up since I don't want to ever hide my emotions, even if they won't reach the likes of any one. In fact, I'm feeling so better that I've played and finished New Super Mario Bros, becoming the second game I've completed this month, to even make a quick review taking about it. While I'm on the topic of reviews...

A New Change with my Reviews

I think I'm getting a little too carried with my passion for these considering it was part of the cause for my college grades to become lower due to the unnecessarily added stress of me thinking about adding them to the games I've been playing. I've decided I'm going to only share my thoughts with the ones I feel like sharing, and leave the ones that I don't feel like sharing. Thought about this working on my OneShot 2016 review.

Although with me working on this with another person, it makes me wonder what other games I could be working with to talk about our thoughts on the games that we both played... Considering I don't know what to play next, I should look back at the Recommendation form that I've hosted a while back to see what people have said thus far.

Website Update

Throughout this month, I've been doing maintenance towards my website, and released version 1.1, a major internal step up from what it was, and with 1.1.1, I decided to change the backend for how my Nekoweb site grabs the RSS feed from by Bear Blog using Cloudfare, and it made displaying it instantaneous (and less buggy), and I also added my PFPs for the active sites I use the most onto there. I miiiiight get rid of this due to how frequent I change pfps on Discord, though. Maybe I just need to keep it the same lol

I also updated my webtitles to be with the visuals of my main website.

As I approach the end of this month's recap. I'm going to find better ways to approach ways to keep myself from creating another venting thread like the one I've done. I know it's fine to experience these kinds of emotions but for someone like me, they're just getting in the way of me being goofy and THAT'S NOT ALLOWED HERE.
