Welcome to my Blog!
Here is where I cover some nice little video game reviews of any video game out there: Popular, Niche, Mainstream, Downstream, you name it. If you've came from My Website, then hi! This is the same Mals. Here's a bit of a background as to why I've started this in the first place:
Background
I originally was a reviewer on a site called Backloggd, a site where you can track down the games you've played, your playing, the games you want to put on your Backlog/wish list and your wishlist. It's also a reviewing site where its users can post a review of their favorite game using a 5 star system that ranges from 0.5 stars to 5 stars. Started using it after a friend of mine suggested it to me back in Q3 2023, and started making wonderful reviews on there, from small joke ones to ones that exceed over ten-thousand words.
After a while of using it however, I thought of hosting a site of my own where I can personalize how my reviews are represented as, adding a bit more passion and creativity towards my reviews. During this time period, I started asking people around the communities I'm in if they knew ways I can achieve this goal of mine, and one suggested Bear Blog, the site to which you're reading this from.
Immediately made an account, touched up my Nekoweb website, and now all that's needed for me is to make reviews. I know this is primarily a blogging site, but I'm sure that others wouldn't mind me posting my thoughts on Video games here. You can check the "Reviews 'n Updates" section for all of the content I've made.
My Reviewing Process
For people new to my reviewing style or for those that want a reminder, here is a quick rundown on how I typically write my reviews down:
- I always start with a Preamble, talking about how I first discovered the game, and some beginning thoughts I had before playing it. Then, if I've done it, I'll then provide some background information about the game's existence and how it came to be, ranging from the developers, to the release dates, and any other important information that I could find.
- Then I go into the specific categories where I critique the Story, Gameplay, Replay Value, Graphics, and the Soundtrack. These include individual scores I give before finishing my review with a Verdict/Other Thoughts: Thoughts I have to say after working on the review and playing the game. I also follow the same system as Backloggd's except instead of the stars, I just show the values numerically.
I also have the following emojis in the title of the review to indicate whether or not I've done the following:
- ✨= 10k+︱(This review has 10 thousand words and counting)
- 🚨= Spoiler Warning︱(This review contains spoilers)
- 💀= Cheated︱(Cheats have been used in the playthrough through any capacity)
- â•= Played︱(Nothing specific)
- 🟠= Shelved︱(Put down, but might play again sometime)
- 🔵= Retired︱(Finished a game that lacks an ending)
- 🟢= Completed︱(Finished the main objective)
- 🔴= Abandoned︱(Put down and will barely/never play again)
- 🟣= Mastered︱(use in addendum to the above) (Know the game from the ground up)
That's all I have to say for now. If want to start reading my reviews, check the "Reviews 'n Updates" already!
